Students voted on the staff member of the month for August and September and Mr. Roberts and Mrs. Griffith were chosen by the students. Staff members nominated and voted on students to be chosen as students of the month. For the month of August, Clyde, Jayce, Isaiah, and Jaylynn were chosen. For September, Cooper, Ava, Kaelynn, and Isabelle K. were chosen. Congratulations to these awesome students and staff members who make OSHS a great place to be!

During PBL last week Mrs. VanMeter's class talked about leadership and teamwork. The two teams had to work together to build a single stack and then a pyramid. The red team won the single stack and the blue team won the pyramid stack.

The Nuclear Career Fair will be held in conjunction with the TACRAO College Fair at Roane State Community College for all seniors in Roane County on October 21, 2025 during National Nuclear Science Week. Parents, your student was sent home with a permission slip for this fair after the ACT on Tuesday. Please make sure to sign it and have them return it so they can learn about all of the opportunities coming to our area!

The 9th-11th grade field trip to the K-25 History Museum is tomorrow, October 10/7. Students will need money for lunch. If your student has not turned in a permission slip form, they must turn that in tomorrow morning and will be allowed to go if there is room on the buses.

Oliver Springs is partnering with the Hands of Mercy and asking for our students to bring in boxes of brownie mix. We are competing with Midway High School on who can donate the most boxes THIS WEEK! The competition with the Midway community will end before this Thursday night's game where the winner will be announced. Help us help the Hands of Mercy with their Food Drive as we begin to look forward to the holidays.
