OSHS Juniors Alie B, Addison M, Liam B, and Jonah R graduated from the Roane County Youth Leadership Academy this week. They represented our school well throughout this program! In the spring, upcoming 11th and 12th graders may apply to be a part of the Roane County Youth Leadership program.

The Dual Studies Office at Roane State is hosting their first annual āHigh School Adventure Fairā on Saturday, Nov. 9th from 10am until 1pm at the Oak Ridge RSCC Campus. The goal of the event is to showcase Roane Stateās Programs of Study, highlight careers that are possible with a certificate or degree from RSCC, provide Dual Enrollment, Middle College, and Early College info to all ages of students and their parents/guardians.

As a culmination to Principal Appreciation Month, the middle and high school surprised Mr. Branham and Mrs. Proffitt with a special lunch and cards to express our appreciation for them. Thank you for all you do for our schools!

To celebrate getting to FINALLY have a our 2024 Homecoming Ceremony, students should wear their purple and gold to school to earn class points to help determine the winner of the 2024 Homecoming Festivities!

Mrs. Miklas' Chemistry class celebrated National Mole Day on 10/23 which celebrates Avogadroās number 6.022x10^23. This describes how many molecules are in 1 mol of a substance. They celebrated by creating mole themed projects.








Senior Retakes are coming up!

We have a JAM PACKED Friday night this week at D.J. Brittan field! Oliver Springs takes on Greenback with a 7:30pm kickoff. Before that, we will have our Homecoming Ceremony starting at 6:30pm. Following the Homecoming Ceremony will be the Class of 2025 Senior Night Celebration as we honor our football, cheer, and band seniors! During halftime, the 2024 OS Hall of Fame Inductees will be honored! We can't wait to see you there for our last regular season home game!

Beta Cub Members: Mrs. Vowell needs remaining Beta Club Convention money by THIS Friday!!!! There is also one boy and one girl spot open for current Beta Members. See Mrs. Vowell ASAP if you want to go.
Mrs. Vowel's PBL printed the Rocket Boys picture from the movie, "October Sky", that was partially filmed in Oliver Springs and put in the shed used for the movie for the Oliver Springs Historical Society. You can see the shed and the picture from the movie across the street from the Historical Society.

Mrs. Jones will be hosting a Roane State Application Day for Seniors planning on going to Roane State in the Fall. She will also be available until 5:30 for seniors and their parents to get help setting up their FSA ID for the FAFSA once it opens. FSA ID is required to be set up before students & parents can complete the FAFSA. It also takes about 3 days to activate so the earlier the better. If parents already have an account, then they will not need to create another one.
