Yesterday, the students and staff of HHS made a powerful statement by choosing not to dress up for Halloween. Instead, they came together in Pink and Teal to honor those fighting cancer. Many chose Teal specifically to show their support for Alyssa Branam, who is currently battling ovarian cancer. This act of unity and compassion reflects the heart and strength of our community, standing together for a cause that hits close to home. Thank you, HHS students, for showing such inspiring support and solidarity. #WeAreHarriman #beat cancer #cancersucks #TealOut

On Monday, HHS participated in the Student Mock Election. This is a statewide initiative organized by the Tennessee Secretary of State's office. It encourages students from all schooling types (public, private, and home school) across Tennessee, from PreK to 12th grade, to participate. It’s an opportunity for students to learn about the electoral process in a hands-on way. For additional resources on civics education and information on upcoming Student Mock Elections, students and educators can visit the Tennessee Secretary of State's Civics Education page - https://sos.tn.gov/civics.

This year, our Annual Pink Out will be a little different as we aim to raise awareness and support for ovarian cancer by wearing TEAL. This is just a small way to show our love and encouragement for our own Alyssa Branam, who is courageously fighting this disease with such grace!

On Saturday, October 5th, HHS Students shared their talents at the annual Oak Ridge Street Painting Festival. Congratulations to Dashia Prajapati, who was awarded First Place for her artwork "The Eye of the Storm." For the 2nd Year, the Student Ambassadors have selected El Cants Mexican Restaurant as a valued Community Partner. Their support and generosity significantly impact our students and staff, from being a favorite after school or before a ballgame place for grabbing a bite or providing lunch for our faculty. We are incredibly fortunate to have a local business like El Cants that cares deeply about our community.

Zombie apocalypse? The resurrection of Michael Myers? NO! It is Ms. Sofia's Art Classes learning the art of mask-making. It's cool but also a little creepy when you see them in the hallway!
