HHS students proudly volunteered their time and energy on Friday night at Senator Ken Yager's 29th Annual Chili Supper! This cherished community tradition brought together residents and leaders from across the region, including Gov. Bill Lee, to support an important cause.
This year's event supported the Roane County Anti-Drug Coalition, raising funds and awareness for substance abuse prevention. We are grateful to see our students making a difference in the community! 🍲💙 #HHSVolunteers #CommunityImpact #RoaneCounty

Our Teaching as a Profession students had a lovely visit from Zoo Knoxville. TAP students took part in a teacher workshop, where they learned how to make science instruction meaningful through hands-on experiences with bio-facts, animal skins, specimens, and even live animals. Students were engaged and eager to apply their learning in their Job Shadow experiences. Thank you for joining us! We hope to visit the zoo for another workshop soon!

Harriman High School CTE students have been hard at work, applying the skills they have learned in their Marketing, Teaching as a Profession, and STEM courses to create banners showcasing our local business sponsors in our gym. Awesome work, students!

Yesterday, several students from Mrs. Stout's and Ms. King's classes visited the University of Tennessee to explore the Baker School of Public Policy and Public Affairs. During their trip, they learned about the school and Senator Baker's enduring legacy. They experienced a taste of college life by participating in a mini-lecture on government, civics, and an economic scenario. The students also enjoyed a guided tour of the Baker School and had the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session with current UT students.

Congratulations to the graduates of the 2024 Roane Youth Leadership Program!
Tonight, we celebrate these students for their dedication and hard work in developing their leadership skills. Throughout the program, they had the opportunity to engage with community leaders, attend civic meetings, and apply what they’ve learned through a hands-on community service project.
We are confident that the skills these young leaders have gained will continue to serve them well in all their future endeavors. We can’t wait to see the amazing things they’ll accomplish next.
Once again, congratulations to all the Roane Youth Leadership graduates!
