Congratulations to all our high school Bobcats of the Month and the perfect-attendance drawing winners for March!

Oliver Springs High School's student body selected teacher Mr. Roberts to be awarded as the Faculty Member of the Month for March.

We had a few students state why they thought Mr. Roberts should be Staff Member of the Month. One student said that “He has been such an encouragement to me and has such positive energy that we all need. He deserves the recognition.” Another student stated that “he's the coolest teacher of all time!” Multiple students said that they love Mr. Roberts and that he is funny and awesome.

Mr. Roberts

Each month, there is a high school Bobcat of the Month from each grade level, which is nominated by a faculty member and voted on by the staff. Bobcats of the Month receive a small prize, with one lucky winner receiving a gift card. This month’s Bobcats of the Month are: Kenzie Russell (Freshman), Kayla Hinds (Sophomore), Zachary Hamby (Junior), and Duce Jones (Senior).

Teachers had many positive things to say about the students they nominated. Coach Kegley stated that “Kenzie Russell helped a struggling student with an assignment & also encouraged them.” Kenize was also nominated by Mrs. Kitts, and she said, “Kenzie worked hard as a peer tutor during our writing unit helping her assigned classmates get on track with their essay as she worked above and beyond and finished hers early.” The sophomore nominee was Kayla Hinds, who was nominated by Mr. Roberts. He said, “I would give Kayla Hinds a medal of honor if I could.” Mrs. Kitts nominated Zachary Hamby who was chosen. She said,  “Zachary works hard in his classes and cares about his grades. He is kind to others around him and respectful to adults.” Mrs. White’s nominee for the senior class was chosen this month, and that was Duce Jones. Mrs. White stated that “Duce works hard in Theatre Arts every day. He memorized his lines first. Every day he gives 100 percent in class.”

Zach was also the winner of the drawing and got his very own special shirt made in our FabLab by OSHS students.
