Three students of the Class of 2025 at Oliver Springs High School are currently choosing the military as a pathway for their future. These seniors decided to share what they wish to pursue within their military careers. These students are Walker Booth, Elliot Blair, and Jayden Davis. We are proud of these students for their sacrifice and service for our country.
Walker Booth shared with us the following about his military decision: "One year ago, I swore in with the Tennessee National Guard. Before swearing in, I chose military police (31B) as my military occupational specialty, and I go to basic training and advanced individual training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, this June 27th. I will be there for about five and a half months. The reason why I chose the National Guard is because I’ve always wanted to serve my country in one way or another. Upon meeting with Sergeant Benoit one day at school, it immediately felt like the right decision to begin the process of joining. In my career, I hope to do my best when it comes to serving honorably, and protecting others. I hope to make a difference in my community, state, and country. The National Guard offers a lot of great opportunities and I’ve already met lots of great people through it. I would greatly recommend it!”
Elliot Blair (back row, second from left) shared his military decision with us stating: “The job I am pursuing in the Navy is Navy Nuke. Pretty much, I get to work with the nuclear reactors on either aircraft carriers or submarines. For the job I am entering, it has some of the best benefits in the military and chances for a high paying job after the military. I ship off on June 23, 2025.”
Jayden Davis (far left) shared: "I decided to join the Army. The career that I will have within the military will be a 68W or Combat medic. I plan on going to college to get a nursing degree or become a Paramedic for a career after my military service.”
