Congratulations to all our high school perfect attendance drawing winners & our Bobcats of the Month for January!
Oliver Springs High School's student body selected Spanish teacher Profe. Vaca to be awarded as the Faculty Member of the Month for January.
We had a few students state why they thought Profe. Vaca should be Staff Member of the Month. Some students said that “she's always very happy” and “she is very kind and caring.” Others noted that she is “very patient” with all of her students.
All high school students with perfect attendance are entered into a drawing for a small monthly prize (one winner per grade level). The January winners for the Perfect Attendance drawing were Kasen Walters (Freshman), Samuel Bjelland (Sophomore), Mia Harris (Junior), and Madalynn Blackwell (Senior).
Each month, there is a high school Bobcat of the Month from each grade level which is nominated by a faculty member and voted on by the staff. Bobcats of the Month receive a small prize with one lucky winner receiving a gift card. This month’s Bobcats of the Month are: Aiden Laxton (Freshman), Brook Hooks (Sophomore), Alie Brown (Junior), and Isabel Blackburn (Senior).
Profe. Vaca stated that she is “positively impressed by [Aiden’s] kindness and work.” Mrs. Jones and Profe. Vaca said that Brook “has a willingness to ask questions and take notes” and overall has a “desire to do well.” Mrs. Webber said Alie is “always on time, works hard, and is exceptionally polite.” Finally, Mrs. Brown commented that Isabel is “very respectful and does her work without question” and is “a very sweet kid.”
