Oliver Springs High School students will attend prom on Saturday, April 26th. The location for the prom is in Maryville, TN at the Capitol Theatre. The prom will take place from 7:00–10 PM. This year's theme is Jackpot Dreams.
Tickets cost $30 per person until Friday, March 28th and may be bought from Mrs. Vowell. After this date, ticket prices will rise to $40 and will be sold until Friday, April 18th.
Students who attend OSHS have to fill out a contract. Those contracts must be turned in to Mrs. Given before you can attend prom. NO exceptions! The contract has a dress code, rules, and consequences. Girl's dresses can not have a low-cut or plunging neckline, the back of the dress must fall no shorter than the natural hipline, the length and slit should not be too high, and the dress must not expose the midriff or abdominal area.
The men’s dress code requires a suit or tuxedo. Dress shirts must be worn at all times. If the shirt is see-through, you must wear an undershirt. Pants must always be pulled up around the waist with a belt.
Prom is a formal event. The evening needs to reflect both responsibility and fun. Administrators and teachers will determine whether the dress is appropriate or if it goes against violation. Students in violation of the rules will be removed from the perimeters.
Students are expected to show respect and be courteous towards all staff, administrators, and chaperones. Dancing can not be turned into anything inappropriate or you will be removed from prom. There are also to be no excessive public displays of affection (PDA). If an adult of any kind suspects a student is under the influence of the following, they will be removed from the prom and face emergency expulsion and criminal prosecution:
Any controlled substance
Possession of tobacco
Vapes
Alcohol
The Roane County Schools Boards of Education’s Student Code of Conduct will be in effect at all times. Students at OSHS who bring students from other schools are responsible for explaining the guidelines for the prom. If any of the rules are broken, the student will be asked to leave by a faculty member. There will be NO refunds given to students that have been asked to leave the premises.
When a student is told to leave prom by a faculty member, the punishment will consist of school discipline, school dance privileges, and/or may affect your ability to do stuff at graduation. If you leave prom before 10 PM, even to go to your car, you will not be allowed to go back inside.
