Congratulations to all our high school perfect attendance drawing winners & our Bobcats of the Month.
Oliver Springs High School's student body selected an administrator to be awarded as the Faculty Member of the Month for October and it was Mr. Booth, our assistant principal.
We had a few students state why they thought Mr. Booth should be Staff Member of the Month. Students stated that “he [is] funny”, “He is awesome”, and that he takes care of so much stuff for our school. Mr. Booth has also been a very important part of helping the teachers prepare for our STEM redesignation.
All high school students with perfect attendance are entered into a drawing for a small monthly prize (one winner per grade level). The October winners for the Perfect Attendance drawing were Freshman Andres O., Sophomore Kaden J., Junior Landon M., and Senior Hope M.
Each month, there is a high school Bobcat of the Month from each grade level which is nominated by a faculty member and voted on by the staff. Bobcats of the Month receive a small prize with one lucky winner receiving a gift card. This month’s Bobcats of the Month are: Christopher Strickland (Freshman), Kayla Hinds (Sophomore), Wyatt Zeigler (Junior), and LeAnn Jackson (Senior).
Mr. Stratton stated that “Mr. Strickland has been able to overcome some early missteps to rise to the top of the year-long Algebra course for the 2nd semester. He scored [an A] pn the Module 4 test and continues to apply himself in class.” Mrs. Webber said that Kayla “is an outstanding student. She is not afraid to stand out from the crowd when she knows she's in the right. She works harder than any other sophomore I have right now. Mrs. White said “Wyatt is an example for his peers. He is respectful and hard working in class. I can count on him to submit work that is his personal best.” Mrs. Kitts said that LeAnn is “always organized with her school work and does a great job managing dual enrollment courses along with her high school classes.”
Mr. Booth’s prize box has fun, random prizes that the students love. One particular prize is “Friend for a Day” which Landon chose again after enjoying a day well spent with the office Koala.
Congratulations to these students and Mr. Booth!
