Today Oliver Springs Academy along with Roane County Schools, the city of Oliver Springs, and other county and state officials gathered at OSA to dedicate the bus road along the new addition of the building to Mr. James Brummett. Mr. Brummett served on the Roane County Commission after being elected in 2006 and served 3 consecutive terms until 2018. He also served as a member on the Oliver Springs City Council from 2002-2014 and then again from 2021 until his passing. He also served as Vice Mayor during that time. Mr. Brummett was an instrumental member in the success of Oliver Springs in all aspects. He also was a huge supporter of Oliver Springs schools and donated a portion of land for the building of the new Oliver Springs Academy. He was also a proud member of the OSHS Band Booster Club. His family has spanned four generations of attending Oliver Springs schools starting with his parents all the way to his grandchildren being OSHS graduates. The Oliver Springs community, schools, and the Roane County School Board are appreciative of Mr. Brummett's contributions and are honored to name the OSA bus road Brummett Foundation Drive in honor of Mr. Brummett.
