The Service Learning class at OSHS will be hosting a vase/mug drive for Random Acts of Flowers (RAF)! The Service Learning class, which is comprised of five students, will be volunteering at RAF on April 13th.
Random Acts of Flowers is a nonprofit organization serving the greater Knoxville area that delivers hope and encouragement through flowers to more than 1,400 hospital patients and nursing home residents each month.
The PBL classes will also be competing against each other in bringing in vase/mug donations. The PBL class that supplies the most vases/mugs will win their choice of a donut or pizza party during PBL!
Bring your vases to Oliver Springs High between March 28-April 6 with a $1 bill inside each vase.
They are collecting any glass or plastic container that holds water. Ideal vase sizes are 4”-10” or mugs. For every donation of $10, RAF delivers compassion and beauty to one person in the greater Knoxville area.
The class goal is to collect 150 vases and raise $150 for this program.
Take this opportunity to clean out your garage, attic, or cabinets – those old vases may feel like clutter to you but can provide a thoughtful gift to someone experiencing pain, illness, or loneliness in a healthcare facility.
